Founder and Publisher

David M. Toll

David Toll is the founder of Top Quartile Media LLC, the publisher of both Private Equity Career News and LP Allocator News as well as their companion paid membership sites.

David served as executive editor of Buyouts Magazine, PE Hub and Venture Capital Journal from 2014 to April 2019. Earlier in his career he served as editor of The Private Equity Analyst newsletter. In May 2019 David launched recruiting platform Private Equity Career to help students and PE professionals find jobs, learn new skills, and stay abreast of trends in hiring and compensation. Talent professionals use it to find diverse hires. Four years later he launched fundraising platform LP Allocator to help independent sponsors and emerging managers identify and contact family offices and other potential investors.

An uncelebrated cartoonist in his spare time, David wrote the book, A Cartoon Lover’s Guide to Private Equity, which you can purchase here. All after-tax profits of his book go to Toigo Foundation, which encourages women and minorities to pursue careers in finance.

Michelle “Moe” Saxton

Michelle “Moe” Saxton heads up editorial coverage for the weekly newsletter Private Equity Career News. Imagine having an expert recruiter to help guide your next job search. That’s Michelle, who spends her days searching job ads, career pages and job boards for the most attractive opportunities in private equity. Michelle also talks with executive recruiters and talent executives to learn about job openings, hiring trends, compensation trends and more.

Earlier in her career Michelle served as a contributing writer at Wrightsville Beach Magazine & Lumina News. She also covered the statehouse for the Charleston Daily Mail in Charleston, West Virginia. A runner in her spare time, Michelle serves as an event success manager at race sponsor It’s Go Time.

Daniel Crowley

Heading up editorial coverage for the LP Allocator fundraising platform is Daniel Crowley, a skilled journalist with over a decade of experience covering breaking news and finance in North America and Europe.

Daniel began his career in the United Kingdom before moving to the United States in 2013 to work as a foreign correspondent. He now specializes in covering private equity news, including LP commitments and emerging manager fundraising. He also has experience on the fund side of the industry, having served as the CMO for The Rillmead Group, a social impact firm focused on affordable housing.
